Five Signs You May Need to Replace Your Mattress

A mattress plays an important role in your daily life. So, you tend to choose your mattress carefully. However, no matter how expensive and how much care you put into your mattress, you may need to let go of it someday and have it recycled by Recyc-Matelas. A premium mattress may serve you for up to eight years before it succumbs to wear and tear as it supports your body every night. Thankfully, when you have to give up your mattress, a good recycling company will take care of it, so it can be put to good use after its service life. So, how do you know it’s time to replace your mattress? The following are some signs to watch out for:

    Sagging

If your mattress is sagging, you should replace it as soon as possible as it may no longer be able to give proper back support when you sleep. Over time, memory foam gets softer, springs break down, and the fibers compress, resulting in sagging.

    Unusual Noise

Screeching metal sounds and squeaking sounds might tell you it’s time to replace your mattress. These sounds may apply to mattresses that feature coils and this problem can be fixed by tightening the mattress or box spring bolts. But a strange noise from your mattress may also mean the coils are aging and may have lost their ability to give optimal support.

    Bad Smell

Over time, mold, mildew, fungi, and mold can build up in your mattress, especially when you are in a humid climate. If your mattress is starting to smell bad, you may need to let go of it.

    Allergies

If dust mites, mold, and mildew invade your mattress, they could exacerbate your allergies. You will know this is happening when you wake up with a runny nose, watery eyes, and a headache. Some materials such as natural latex and wood can help prevent allergen buildup in mattresses, so you should consider these materials when you buy a new mattress.

    Body Pain

Do you wake up with severe pain in the morning? If so, this could mean your mattress is not as comfortable and supportive as it was before. You could experience pain in the neck, hips, or shoulders as the mattress fails to relieve pressure on such areas. Also, you could experience pain in your lower back because your back does not get proper support while you sleep.
